The story appears simple on the surface, but is revealed, especially after multiple viewings, as more multi-layered and textured than Cassavetes at his best. Ostensibly it concerns a 14-year old Catholic girl, Wynne (Agutter) growing up in this post-modern wasteland, who develops a crush on her much older adoptive brother (Marshall)- a crush which perversely deepens and grows into infatuation once she starts to believe he is the local sex killer. This is in itself an idea that makes you sit up and jolt, but as the narrative develops, it continues not necessarily along a linear path but in several confusing and fascinating directions: the family's history, (detailed effectively in chilling flashback during an improvised seance) is a chequered one, and has suffered at least one major relocation and upheaval in the last ten years. At the crux, however, it's the depiction of socialal changes that make I Start Counting so fascinating and elevate its language far beyond the confines of the standard horror film. The major subtext- that teenage girls were maturing more quickly than before, and developing full sexual and romantic appetites (even if in thought rather than deed) but were not possessed of enough discretion to make the right choices- was a step forward for a genre in which its young females had previously been portrayed as bimbo victims (Cover Girl Killer and The Night Caller spring to mind), but not one that all viewers would necessarily agree with. But most striking of all, and possibly the most enduring image which the viewer will take away with them, is of the masterful symbolism with which director Greene invests every shot. Every inch of the Kinch family's world- their house, their walls, their TV, Agutters underwear, bedroom furniture and toys, Sutcliffe's clothes, Marshalls van, the local Catholic church, their town centre, their record shop) - is painted a bright, scintillating white- a white which, by inference, is slowly becoming smudged and corrupted with the dirt of the outside world. White also symbolises, of course, purity and innocence (two qualities Catholic schoolgirls are supposed to hold dear), and it is into this world of innocence that the ever-present red bus (a symbol of violation and penetration), conducted by the lecherous yet similarly juvenile Simon Ward, makes regular journeys. The allegory is further expanded in one scene where Agutter believes she sees the Christ figure in church weeping blood: by the time we acknowledge it, its gone, but the seed has already been planted. Rarely in a genre production has the use of colour and background been so important or effective in creating a uniformity of mood. I Start Counting is as near-perfect an end to a decade as one could hope for, and exactly the kind of film people should be making now- which is, of course, exactly why they never will. 难得一见的国产平行空间片，恐怖游轮的壳子，彗星来的那一夜的里子，对于只有3个演员撑起的小成本电影，我觉得需要5分鼓励。每段穿越都有亮点，逻辑又自洽，男女主演技又在线。
57。很棒的剧本和节奏，正是因为女主的自私才不致于烂尾。
小成本科幻片，剧本还有很多种可能
虽然说大陆拍这种平行空间的主题应该鼓励，但对于看多了欧美此类片的我，嘲点实在不少：地点一股子欧美的感觉，要么你直接说在东北，跟俄罗斯还能扯上关系；看出了《彗星来的那一夜》、《再生门》、《时空罪恶》、《恐怖游轮》的味道：几个来自不同空间的主角、这个空间的人想取代那个空间的自己、有一个通道到不同空间、主角最后炸掉通道、主角失去孩子等。但国产的悬疑味真是太刻意了，标题特地点明平行空间、女主跟人质疑有平行空间、男主明明确确解释平行空间，反正就是让你明白，这部片就是讲平行空间的。PS女主的演技还算在线。
最后的结局很好~虽然也是相干性的科幻题材，但也很不错啦！加油加油！
低成本 高效果 国产悬疑能拍成这样 很欣慰啊
加油，很少国产拍这种东西。不过准备好烧脑了，但是不穿越了竟然。
类似“彗星来的那一夜”，不过没设什么悬念，表现很直白。故事还行，内容偏少。大概受限于预算，一般网大水准。
就一个很简单的设定，拍了这么长时间，
很一般，演技也一般，考虑各种因素还是支持一下吧
100 万拍出来的科幻片，感觉整部片子不是平行世界，只是女主车祸昏迷的一场梦
女主圣母的有时候像双鱼陨石傻🐶男主，有俩女的救一个可以焯整个沙漠，他却俩都搞死了。
国产版《彗星来的那一夜》+《恐怖游轮》，表演在线，逻辑自洽，既有科幻脑洞，又有动人的情感，还有人性的复杂和黑暗，国产科幻片能做到这一点非常难得了。值得鼓励，值得推荐！
我觉得还行，小成本来说算是不错了。一个亮点是，明明回到了自己的空间，却又被老公逼着离开。最后一个空间没处理好，感觉像是表现成亦真实亦虚幻的感觉，但是节奏很奇怪，闪回也毫无意义，然后就莫名其妙结束了。
电影土猛土猛的，设定很像恐怖游轮和彗星来的那一夜，作为一部网络电影已经算不错的了
时空罪恶+恐怖游轮+彗星来的那一夜，看评论里舔彗星狗太多，中国人就不能优秀吗？故事能讲的这么棒，比很多平行时空电影都优秀太多，格局不大，但已十足优秀
无数个平行空间穿越，结果乱套的脑洞，不算特别新，《彗星来的那一夜》类似。情节显得比较匮乏，元素太单调了。
虽然应该鼓励给个三分，但还是太小学森了，没有及格，希望继续探索吧国产电影加油
男主的演技把一整部戏的质感拉低了一个档次……
