The story appears simple on the surface, but is revealed, especially after multiple viewings, as more multi-layered and textured than Cassavetes at his best. Ostensibly it concerns a 14-year old Catholic girl, Wynne (Agutter) growing up in this post-modern wasteland, who develops a crush on her much older adoptive brother (Marshall)- a crush which perversely deepens and grows into infatuation once she starts to believe he is the local sex killer. This is in itself an idea that makes you sit up and jolt, but as the narrative develops, it continues not necessarily along a linear path but in several confusing and fascinating directions: the family's history, (detailed effectively in chilling flashback during an improvised seance) is a chequered one, and has suffered at least one major relocation and upheaval in the last ten years. At the crux, however, it's the depiction of socialal changes that make I Start Counting so fascinating and elevate its language far beyond the confines of the standard horror film. The major subtext- that teenage girls were maturing more quickly than before, and developing full sexual and romantic appetites (even if in thought rather than deed) but were not possessed of enough discretion to make the right choices- was a step forward for a genre in which its young females had previously been portrayed as bimbo victims (Cover Girl Killer and The Night Caller spring to mind), but not one that all viewers would necessarily agree with. But most striking of all, and possibly the most enduring image which the viewer will take away with them, is of the masterful symbolism with which director Greene invests every shot. Every inch of the Kinch family's world- their house, their walls, their TV, Agutters underwear, bedroom furniture and toys, Sutcliffe's clothes, Marshalls van, the local Catholic church, their town centre, their record shop) - is painted a bright, scintillating white- a white which, by inference, is slowly becoming smudged and corrupted with the dirt of the outside world. White also symbolises, of course, purity and innocence (two qualities Catholic schoolgirls are supposed to hold dear), and it is into this world of innocence that the ever-present red bus (a symbol of violation and penetration), conducted by the lecherous yet similarly juvenile Simon Ward, makes regular journeys. The allegory is further expanded in one scene where Agutter believes she sees the Christ figure in church weeping blood: by the time we acknowledge it, its gone, but the seed has already been planted. Rarely in a genre production has the use of colour and background been so important or effective in creating a uniformity of mood. I Start Counting is as near-perfect an end to a decade as one could hope for, and exactly the kind of film people should be making now- which is, of course, exactly why they never will. 核心还是对于科技高速发展，人工智能科技的探讨，用偏荒诞喜剧的形式去呈现。整体创作偏随意，是热内导演的一部平庸之作。

看到最后感觉被耍了一顿，这么搞笑的自毁形式。疫情居家太搞笑，但是都高科技社会了，不会自动消毒or隐形口罩？
感觉故事真的好漫长……开场前主持人介绍说这是波兰人都知道的事件，所以可能波兰人看着不会这么闷？本来以为是逃亡害怕被发现的故事，但是其实就是政府和主角一方互相拉扯的故事。政府官员都有点脸谱化，不过那个军队司令官挺传神的，然后那个妈妈也很生动。回想起来感觉最喜欢那些吃东西的片段……
美波好漂亮啊啊啊呃呃以及动画部分不错。爱看美女贴贴，但内容太空洞。
要么就真的维持主角视角把恋情往隐晦了处理，要么就直接用回望的结构把情感表达出来，弄成现在这样简直毫无意义，感觉两人好像不太熟的样子，最后补完视角是要干嘛……
剧情真的很弱，略显无聊。整个片子很“日本味”，呈现出一种隐忍的日式的哀苦：因灾难而死的人、突然自我了断的人、承受他人离世而不可自拔的人、明明在身边却充满隔阂的人...日式电影总喜欢呈现人的软弱与距离感。演员都是好演员。女主的衬衫是件很便宜的男款，我有件同款，女同喜欢男衬衫系列？（误）
高科技的未来，法国人还是被困在法式administration和各种protocoles里？这简直比恐怖片还恐怖啊…全片逻辑漏洞挺多的，人物设定也是老套，以及许多其他不喜欢之处不写了
有点意思，很多对人性的讽刺都很到位啊。“因为我们独一无二，充满瑕疵，你这个该死的机器！”（尤尼克斯一出场我的关注点全在他的大白牙上了哇咔咔咔咔
岸井雪乃真的很适合这样的角色啊 虽然不喜欢动画的部分但这么处理效果竟然还行 故事确实太浅了 包括后来二十分钟另一个视角补足有些画蛇添足 加入震灾的情节不知道该说是偷懒还是心机 整体除了时长太长还算舒服
