The Freebie centers on Darren (Shepard) and Annie (Aselton), a young married couple with an enviable relationship built on love trust and communication. When a dinner party conversation leads to an honest discussion about the state of their love life, and when a sexy bikini photo shoot leads to crossword puzzles instead of sex, they begin to flirt with a way to spice things up. 剧情没什么新意，但是对于一个好久不度假的人来说，被带着环美国还是很惬意的。I will survive那里好好笑。

情节特别简单，走温情路线，有一定套路的公路片。其实水准确实也一般。但真的就...全片散发的那种不容忽视的感伤就一直触动着我的心，真的是淡淡的感伤啊，世事沧桑，年华老去，英雄迟暮，东木在这部电影里毫不掩饰自己的衰老和无力，但有一点是肯定的：西部牛仔精神的永不消亡。

只能说，91岁的东木不应该以这部片子作为结尾，光荣的一声应该有华丽的谢幕，这也不是完美的世界，仿佛低配版本的，一直觉得老爷子是美国传统精神的象征。再来一部，像科比一样谢幕吧。

拍到最后，东木终于卸下了悲情的重担，不再执着于构筑宏大的情感体验，没有制造英雄也完全不是童话，冲突依然没有被化解，人生也少不了妥协，他就这么通透克制地拍了一部现代西部片，在我看来，电影在拾起了早期西部片特质的同时又有了进一步的演进，什么心境就是什么电影，毫无保留。【2021十佳No.4】
