The story appears simple on the surface, but is revealed, especially after multiple viewings, as more multi-layered and textured than Cassavetes at his best. Ostensibly it concerns a 14-year old Catholic girl, Wynne (Agutter) growing up in this post-modern wasteland, who develops a crush on her much older adoptive brother (Marshall)- a crush which perversely deepens and grows into infatuation once she starts to believe he is the local sex killer. This is in itself an idea that makes you sit up and jolt, but as the narrative develops, it continues not necessarily along a linear path but in several confusing and fascinating directions: the family's history, (detailed effectively in chilling flashback during an improvised seance) is a chequered one, and has suffered at least one major relocation and upheaval in the last ten years. At the crux, however, it's the depiction of socialal changes that make I Start Counting so fascinating and elevate its language far beyond the confines of the standard horror film. The major subtext- that teenage girls were maturing more quickly than before, and developing full sexual and romantic appetites (even if in thought rather than deed) but were not possessed of enough discretion to make the right choices- was a step forward for a genre in which its young females had previously been portrayed as bimbo victims (Cover Girl Killer and The Night Caller spring to mind), but not one that all viewers would necessarily agree with. But most striking of all, and possibly the most enduring image which the viewer will take away with them, is of the masterful symbolism with which director Greene invests every shot. Every inch of the Kinch family's world- their house, their walls, their TV, Agutters underwear, bedroom furniture and toys, Sutcliffe's clothes, Marshalls van, the local Catholic church, their town centre, their record shop) - is painted a bright, scintillating white- a white which, by inference, is slowly becoming smudged and corrupted with the dirt of the outside world. White also symbolises, of course, purity and innocence (two qualities Catholic schoolgirls are supposed to hold dear), and it is into this world of innocence that the ever-present red bus (a symbol of violation and penetration), conducted by the lecherous yet similarly juvenile Simon Ward, makes regular journeys. The allegory is further expanded in one scene where Agutter believes she sees the Christ figure in church weeping blood: by the time we acknowledge it, its gone, but the seed has already been planted. Rarely in a genre production has the use of colour and background been so important or effective in creating a uniformity of mood. I Start Counting is as near-perfect an end to a decade as one could hope for, and exactly the kind of film people should be making now- which is, of course, exactly why they never will. 故事结构完整，虽不算雷老爷子佳作，服装造型布景镜头灯光都尚可，整体效果仍算过得去。
拍摄和剧本如此意大利抓马，俗辣艳丽，骄傲整全。改了一些细节确实效率更高了，也把她变成了彻底的捞女😓选角真的非常厉害，服化道的优秀就不说了。好久没有看得这么爽的电影了，在电影院被粉丝的尖叫包围了也不介意😂为爱极生恨的大姐忿忿不平，被一家扶不上墙的阿斗拖累一生。搞什么血统论，她难道不是最懂Gucci吗，金句连连眼光毒辣，她来当CEO联合tom ford说不定有新天地！开头结尾的命案太美了……雷啊你多拍拍杀人吧。

荡气回肠的豪门家族悲剧史诗，主要角色没有一个讨喜的，雷老爷子冷眼看着这一家人彼此斗个鱼死网破，最后便宜了外人。时代的潮流不可逆，古驰家族的衰落也是必然，败给了资本，败给了市场发展的必然
大概是个喜剧。极尽浮华骄奢愚昧的可能，才显露腐朽的人心和平庸的家族原本的模样。直到Tom Ford出场，我们终于等到新鲜的力量。老雷这“瞎搞”的配乐竟然离间出了一些趣味。Bartender行吧。
请给雷导换血换脊髓液等等等，反正要保证他长命百岁。虽然故事很狗血，但集中表现人物的权力幻觉倒挺有趣。我鳖还挺适合，当然莱托很可怕😱
叙事剪辑不是很流畅，故事本身还是挺有意思的。佩服雷霆佳佳小姐特别想要transform自己的决心和努力，就是本次出演还是很average。再接再厉吧。 @Pathe Noord
这是一坨什么玩意，这么丰富的故事，这么多大牌明星，拍成了如此寡淡无聊的模样，也是挺厉害的。
挺好看的呀，不像评论那么糟。纪录片式电影，演员表现都很到位。Lady Gaga演技一流。
剧本好无趣。野心勃勃女疯子才适合纸醉金迷的浮夸世界。
不过我鳖演技其实还可以，没有特别出彩但也没有出错，而且，不得不说口音实在好评。被四大风向标提名的确值得，但是没有奥提真的挺奇怪的…（个人感觉至少比小k要强（仅个人感觉，不喜勿喷…
这般精彩的悲剧底本愣被拍成一地鸡毛的肥皂剧，在卡司们乖张的意式口音映衬下更显幽默；卡戴珊家族版的莎士比亚大抵如此。
2021年，还能看见一群熟脸操着异国口音讲英语，可以说是相当落伍。
怎么可以把这么精彩的一段历史拍的这么无聊…最好看的一段大概是和Tom Ford的那一场秀吧
