索金证明了他仍然是一位一流的编剧，但并不是一位优秀的导演。法庭戏确实是全片的亮点，但叙事结构处理得相当糟糕，例如示威情节的穿插，电影感觉头重脚轻，角色塑造也不到位，想表达的东西没有办法全部塞进一部电影里，所以每一个角色都显得有点空洞，没有办法得到展开。
