The Freebie centers on Darren (Shepard) and Annie (Aselton), a young married couple with an enviable relationship built on love trust and communication. 大卫·洛维有着一种低配版本的时间—影像，在一些时刻，通过场面调度令未来渗入此在，特别是在高文被劫后，在摄影机的一个环形运动之中死亡，重生，如此调度令人想起沟口健二，以及洛维上上部以时间的凝缩作为主题的“鬼故事”。自《绿》的第一个镜头起，洛维希望呈现一部严肃的史诗致敬影史上的万神殿，却又无法逃脱A24的视觉奇观——我们可以相信一些游戏式的镜头绝非他的本意。
成长故事，影像很好，故事立意很简单，塞了很多故弄玄虚的东西。

Wow, 好久没有这种观影体验了：看到四分之三的时候我还跟乔老师说怎么还什么都看不明白，看完后四分之一突然豁然开朗，谜题解开留下无穷回味。有些情节看上去玄之又玄，其实故事不过是一场简单的关于骑士精神的试炼，如何面对自己的虚伪和懦弱，如何化解面对巨大权力时虚妄的执念。精彩！

有隐喻，有暗指，不过骑士对死亡的恐惧，想成为真正骑士的挣扎和纠结还是感受到了。画质也不错，叙述的方式也蛮喜欢的
有诡秘的诗意感 但演员都不够charismatic 无法让我沉浸其中
气氛营造得好，光影也漂亮。但是这到底是一个什么无聊故事。另外，真的没人觉得男主演技奇差。

有点不如预期，故事新编感觉像是A24在恐怖片之外的支线任务，但蘑菇致幻、异教徒仪式依旧不断提醒观众A24出品。灯光和音效以及人声BGM非常出色，旋转镜头和故事轮盘转出时间的倒错。最曼妙的莫过于两次于危难中看尽不同抉择后的人生，勇气在胆小、懦弱、玩垮、背弃中被锤炼，在一生的悔过中铸造骑士精神。
