The story appears simple on the surface, but is revealed, especially after multiple viewings, as more multi-layered and textured than Cassavetes at his best. Ostensibly it concerns a 14-year old Catholic girl, Wynne (Agutter) growing up in this post-modern wasteland, who develops a crush on her much older adoptive brother (Marshall)- a crush which perversely deepens and grows into infatuation once she starts to believe he is the local sex killer. This is in itself an idea that makes you sit up and jolt, but as the narrative develops, it continues not necessarily along a linear path but in several confusing and fascinating directions: the family's history, (detailed effectively in chilling flashback during an improvised seance) is a chequered one, and has suffered at least one major relocation and upheaval in the last ten years. At the crux, however, it's the depiction of socialal changes that make I Start Counting so fascinating and elevate its language far beyond the confines of the standard horror film. The major subtext- that teenage girls were maturing more quickly than before, and developing full sexual and romantic appetites (even if in thought rather than deed) but were not possessed of enough discretion to make the right choices- was a step forward for a genre in which its young females had previously been portrayed as bimbo victims (Cover Girl Killer and The Night Caller spring to mind), but not one that all viewers would necessarily agree with. But most striking of all, and possibly the most enduring image which the viewer will take away with them, is of the masterful symbolism with which director Greene invests every shot. Every inch of the Kinch family's world- their house, their walls, their TV, Agutters underwear, bedroom furniture and toys, Sutcliffe's clothes, Marshalls van, the local Catholic church, their town centre, their record shop) - is painted a bright, scintillating white- a white which, by inference, is slowly becoming smudged and corrupted with the dirt of the outside world. White also symbolises, of course, purity and innocence (two qualities Catholic schoolgirls are supposed to hold dear), and it is into this world of innocence that the ever-present red bus (a symbol of violation and penetration), conducted by the lecherous yet similarly juvenile Simon Ward, makes regular journeys. The allegory is further expanded in one scene where Agutter believes she sees the Christ figure in church weeping blood: by the time we acknowledge it, its gone, but the seed has already been planted. Rarely in a genre production has the use of colour and background been so important or effective in creating a uniformity of mood. I Start Counting is as near-perfect an end to a decade as one could hope for, and exactly the kind of film people should be making now- which is, of course, exactly why they never will. 前两个单元故事小娃配音有点出戏，这是一个莫得感情的朗读机器吗？尤其是《萤火虫女孩》，看着又美又萌的动画，听到这个小男娃内心毫无波澜的配音……
讲真话，个别几部的人物造型我有点接受不了，就，有点心里毛毛的。但是除了这一点，其他的部分就都很棒。一共七个故事，选取的都是小朋友视角，带着观众重新感受成长的故事。额，也有一个伯伯视角，但是也很童心。

第一次在国产动画中看到残疾人还有老人的死亡，就是短片的体量太有限了！

7.0 喜欢《哼将军和哈将军》和《小火车》
那年夏天，光透过弹珠，总觉得里面有整个世界；
我只指童心之源，童心是成人的源泉。最后一篇的视角好动人。
作者们都超级优秀呀，不只是小朋友，大人也非常适合看呐
画风还行，但是有几个小节试图用亲情强攻观众，私人喜好不吃这种剧情，哼哈将军更可爱。
7个小短片串起的动画长片，一以贯之的童趣、温暖和爱，每个故事都有自己的动人之处。小兔子童真，萤火虫女孩奇幻，糖水铺、翼娃子的星期天温情，小火车和哼哈二将表达独特、奇思妙想。最喜欢外婆的蓝色铁皮柜轮椅，运用了大片明亮的色块，金色的稻田，绿色的皂角树，淡淡的怀念，缓缓淌过的时光。映后几位导演和主创分享了很多幕后的故事，谁说动画只能给小朋友看呢。
寒冷冬日里的一抹暖阳，绘本的形式很新颖，不仅吸引小朋友，大朋友看的也很有趣。故事是很容易共情，很平淡的方式讲出深刻的道理，很耐人寻味。
《哼将军和哈将军》:好玩，有点意犹未尽。
看完以后整个人都明亮温暖起来。

😭重庆小火车一篇处理得太温柔了，开火车时“隐形”的腿和最终的奔跑。里面的人儿都善良得可贵，农村和小镇被浪漫化，但这是给孩子的故事，是向着明亮那方的，是我们需要寻迹出发的。嗯嗯，人是要和人建立连接的。结束后前排小朋友喊“可以再看一遍吗”，我右边一女孩“妈妈，我也想再看一遍”
很细腻，很治愈。愿我们每个普通人都能向着光亮那方，活出自己的光
最喜欢外婆的蓝色铁皮柜轮椅，真的很有共鸣，好像是我小时候生活的地方，再然后是翼娃子的星期天、小火车，小火车看到最后会不自觉落下两滴眼泪，很温暖，也很治愈，一部电影七种不同风格、画风、表达方式，完全值得一看
视效不错!治愈系动画？纯煽情动画？感觉只是个换了皮的普通电影（烂片），常见的台词、视角和剧情，希望会有所表达。:-(
