The story appears simple on the surface, but is revealed, especially after multiple viewings, as more multi-layered and textured than Cassavetes at his best. Ostensibly it concerns a 14-year old Catholic girl, Wynne (Agutter) growing up in this post-modern wasteland, who develops a crush on her much older adoptive brother (Marshall)- a crush which perversely deepens and grows into infatuation once she starts to believe he is the local sex killer. This is in itself an idea that makes you sit up and jolt, but as the narrative develops, it continues not necessarily along a linear path but in several confusing and fascinating directions: the family's history, (detailed effectively in chilling flashback during an improvised seance) is a chequered one, and has suffered at least one major relocation and upheaval in the last ten years. At the crux, however, it's the depiction of socialal changes that make I Start Counting so fascinating and elevate its language far beyond the confines of the standard horror film. The major subtext- that teenage girls were maturing more quickly than before, and developing full sexual and romantic appetites (even if in thought rather than deed) but were not possessed of enough discretion to make the right choices- was a step forward for a genre in which its young females had previously been portrayed as bimbo victims (Cover Girl Killer and The Night Caller spring to mind), but not one that all viewers would necessarily agree with. But most striking of all, and possibly the most enduring image which the viewer will take away with them, is of the masterful symbolism with which director Greene invests every shot. Every inch of the Kinch family's world- their house, their walls, their TV, Agutters underwear, bedroom furniture and toys, Sutcliffe's clothes, Marshalls van, the local Catholic church, their town centre, their record shop) - is painted a bright, scintillating white- a white which, by inference, is slowly becoming smudged and corrupted with the dirt of the outside world. White also symbolises, of course, purity and innocence (two qualities Catholic schoolgirls are supposed to hold dear), and it is into this world of innocence that the ever-present red bus (a symbol of violation and penetration), conducted by the lecherous yet similarly juvenile Simon Ward, makes regular journeys. The allegory is further expanded in one scene where Agutter believes she sees the Christ figure in church weeping blood: by the time we acknowledge it, its gone, but the seed has already been planted. Rarely in a genre production has the use of colour and background been so important or effective in creating a uniformity of mood. I Start Counting is as near-perfect an end to a decade as one could hope for, and exactly the kind of film people should be making now- which is, of course, exactly why they never will. 坎妹打了个酱油 剧情还算可以 有点故弄玄虚
电影风格很写实，以至于我以为是真实故事改编。悬疑气氛很棒，希腊美景配合幕后黑手，反差。John演技有提升。
最后这个结尾是认真的吗？本可以是个很牛的故事，结果弄得莫名其妙的

虽然让万恶的中文吸睛片名给骗了，但其实还是挺有意思的片子。
可惜女主 这个男朋友居然开车睡着 哎 找男朋友不能找个靠谱的嘛
异国他乡语言不通手无寸铁，车祸加中枪加卷入政治斗争都不死，主角光环太强了。拍摄手法略粗糙，演技一般，故事情节没有惊喜，不过鉴于网飞小成本，不功不过。
作为一部逃亡片，虽然全程都在逃跑，但剧情实在太粗糙了，而且反派动机阴谋也太缺乏说服力，男主一个普通人跟开了挂一样
感觉把那种怎么逃都逃不掉，躲到哪里都会被找到的漫长折磨人的噩梦，拍成了电影。。
一场莫名其妙的车祸目击一场绑架而被追杀，情节不错，只可惜搞不懂男主的一定要找出真相的莫名其妙的想法。
美国真的很喜欢个人英雄主义。。强行给反派降智太蠢了。那个女警察，要是你不犯傻，男主开片10分钟就能领盒饭
拥有顶级执行力的老倒霉蛋。警方+黑帮+大使馆都搞不死一个左手骨折的星条旗老美国人，甚至还被反杀。因为疲劳驾驶害死了女朋友太内疚所以把希腊警方+黑手党+美国大使馆打了一顿并且救下了被绑架的小男孩。
饿晕假期吧，男主到底是中了枪了，还是打了兴奋剂了，真是亡命天涯路，睡死枕边人……除了开头挺好的，后面真的好无聊
希腊真是好美一欧洲国家!！ PS: 两位女角未免也太眉清目秀的好看了吧!！（当然，最困难的是入局阶段的确略显沉闷
很努力的星二代，和气定神闲的星爸之间，差的就是老天爷赏的那碗饭！
