The story appears simple on the surface, but is revealed, especially after multiple viewings, as more multi-layered and textured than Cassavetes at his best. Ostensibly it concerns a 14-year old Catholic girl, Wynne (Agutter) growing up in this post-modern wasteland, who develops a crush on her much older adoptive brother (Marshall)- a crush which perversely deepens and grows into infatuation once she starts to believe he is the local sex killer. This is in itself an idea that makes you sit up and jolt, but as the narrative develops, it continues not necessarily along a linear path but in several confusing and fascinating directions: the family's history, (detailed effectively in chilling flashback during an improvised seance) is a chequered one, and has suffered at least one major relocation and upheaval in the last ten years. At the crux, however, it's the depiction of socialal changes that make I Start Counting so fascinating and elevate its language far beyond the confines of the standard horror film. The major subtext- that teenage girls were maturing more quickly than before, and developing full sexual and romantic appetites (even if in thought rather than deed) but were not possessed of enough discretion to make the right choices- was a step forward for a genre in which its young females had previously been portrayed as bimbo victims (Cover Girl Killer and The Night Caller spring to mind), but not one that all viewers would necessarily agree with. But most striking of all, and possibly the most enduring image which the viewer will take away with them, is of the masterful symbolism with which director Greene invests every shot. Every inch of the Kinch family's world- their house, their walls, their TV, Agutters underwear, bedroom furniture and toys, Sutcliffe's clothes, Marshalls van, the local Catholic church, their town centre, their record shop) - is painted a bright, scintillating white- a white which, by inference, is slowly becoming smudged and corrupted with the dirt of the outside world. White also symbolises, of course, purity and innocence (two qualities Catholic schoolgirls are supposed to hold dear), and it is into this world of innocence that the ever-present red bus (a symbol of violation and penetration), conducted by the lecherous yet similarly juvenile Simon Ward, makes regular journeys. The allegory is further expanded in one scene where Agutter believes she sees the Christ figure in church weeping blood: by the time we acknowledge it, its gone, but the seed has already been planted. Rarely in a genre production has the use of colour and background been so important or effective in creating a uniformity of mood. I Start Counting is as near-perfect an end to a decade as one could hope for, and exactly the kind of film people should be making now- which is, of course, exactly why they never will. 不知道庵野是恨她还是真想给她个好结局 某种意义上是必要的 但我不可以
那天我在车站的长凳上带起了耳机，回想起过去的可能性。摘下耳机那刻，才发现时间已经让我成长了。
害，现在看起来美感毫无进步。某些分镜完全可以更加雕刻精致，但都凑数过了，变成橙汁的几个镜头到头来还不如破。倒是恶趣味贯彻到底。最后还犯了解释笑话的大忌。相比旧版的宏大叙事，这个结局竟然强行往人的内心去写，无法共情。不过这倒可以期待接下来的特摄，期待更内心的描述。
真的就是一个访谈节目而已，当然看到这六个人时隔17年重聚，还是颇为感慨。时间带走了他们青春的容貌，但还好没带走妙语连珠的台词和温馨美好的回忆。
好吧，无趣时代，俺能理解瞎折腾一番，故作深沉地迎来阳痿，也算一种和解……而且，选庵野这种家伙来当人生导师也并不算坏，因为风险低——抹杀差异，再重构一个残暴而隐性的“共同体”，继而用所谓的“温柔”，扼杀掉所有生命力与可能性。
西历2021年8月13日，不管怎样，谢谢庵野监督，谢谢大家。我有好好地在成长，做一个靠谱的大人呢~虽然私心也想看高仿绫波丽插两个小时秧，但是，学会告别，也是一种成长吧。

尽管已经被剧透的支离破碎，但看完后还是震惊的瘫在椅子上。
比起再拍一集剧情，这种回顾方式不会破坏我们对原剧的印象，而且让RR粉多年的念想成真，真是意外之喜。而要在电视上揭露这个埋藏近20年的秘密，难怪当时片酬谈不拢了……
会有人不泪流满面吗？我最爱的组合十七年后终于齐聚一堂的画面简直美好到surreal.你们记得的台词我都记得，你们忘记的台词我也能接下去，所有的梗提第一个单词我就懂了。用赌房子剧情重现来回顾剧情真的好棒，那也是我最喜欢的剧集啊！引出配角的方式也太有心了！经典造型服装秀没有看够！永远无法超越的剧。
以这种形式出现拍成这样已经很好了，但这种形式真是让人爱不起来，还不如重看前几季

观旧版时和同样披着宗教外衣的《魔法少女小圆》比较，觉得各方面都远逊于后者。如今看完新版觉得主题最相似的其实是庵野秀明前老板同时期的《千与千寻》。和当年贫穷的制作相比新版的阵容无比奢华，每一幅画面都十分精良，而剧情却没太大的进步，粉丝向属性十分明显，仍未成为我认可的佳作
所以国内版的还是删减版啊 现在看真的超喜欢Joey心态好好，Ross原来这么专业。菲比就完全是本色出演啊。这很有趣，他们是先专业演员然后因为角色适合演成了自己。
