The Freebie centers on Darren (Shepard) and Annie (Aselton), a young married couple with an enviable relationship built on love trust and communication. 赵婷身兼数职的确保证了个人表达的一致性，但也因此而失去了更好的可能，至少在剪辑方面是有一些可以改善的地方的。

无法settle down的状态，孤独的公路片。手持带来了不稳定的质感，人物状态体现在构图中，天空被遮蔽的时候主角面临选择困境，上路的时候天空重新占据画面主体。对话场景的设计也很有趣，一方面沿用了斯科塞斯的设计，拍普通人时总是有其他人出现在前景中，拍流浪者时总是孤独的个体。最后主角从镜头中走出，与车融为了一体，似乎也是另一种settled down。7

片子拍的克制，情绪在风景与眼神间流转，孤独又浪漫。
講的是遊牧，演的是徘徊，徘徊在回憶裡的遊魂，究竟是能逃到哪裡去啊去？
有多余剧情，但整体感觉是对的
电影是很主观的，如果说很喜欢的人是因为看到了自由和追求，那我只能看到孤独和悲伤…

镜头语言太美，科恩嫂表演也是真实到无可挑剔，连看了骑士和无依之后都开始期待永恒族了！当老无所依遇上我是布莱克，自然主义和反商业房产的力度很犀利
印象最深的就是那句，如果你要了解当地的生活，就去AA。

赵婷的电影确实在一定程度上打碎了近十年来流行文化对于young wild American时代的庸俗想象，引入的萧条、阶级视角也几乎是独异的。但是我稍不满的是刻意强调主人公受文学影响的一面，而且画面配音乐的抒情方式也用得过多而显得偷懒了。印象深刻的是一幕背景音和现实吉他弹唱交叠覆盖的场景，断续的弦乐有一种超拔的视角。
比起Eliza Hittman更加自然主义，或许deep focus+wide scale才是自然主义电影的最佳选择！前面的配乐有点索然无味，只有最后几次主题性音乐是打动我的，因为如同赵婷以往的叙事风格一样——最后我们才明白人物的困境从何而来，而这段旅行究竟在解决什么——在故事结尾那克制涌动的情绪才尽显波浪。比骑士更弱情节，也更深沉，从关乎小我上升到大生命之情怀，如何面对孤独，死亡，路上的人和将行的路，以及保有那份如美国拓荒者一样的勇敢。
