The story appears simple on the surface, but is revealed, especially after multiple viewings, as more multi-layered and textured than Cassavetes at his best. Ostensibly it concerns a 14-year old Catholic girl, Wynne (Agutter) growing up in this post-modern wasteland, who develops a crush on her much older adoptive brother (Marshall)- a crush which perversely deepens and grows into infatuation once she starts to believe he is the local sex killer. This is in itself an idea that makes you sit up and jolt, but as the narrative develops, it continues not necessarily along a linear path but in several confusing and fascinating directions: the family's history, (detailed effectively in chilling flashback during an improvised seance) is a chequered one, and has suffered at least one major relocation and upheaval in the last ten years. At the crux, however, it's the depiction of socialal changes that make I Start Counting so fascinating and elevate its language far beyond the confines of the standard horror film. The major subtext- that teenage girls were maturing more quickly than before, and developing full sexual and romantic appetites (even if in thought rather than deed) but were not possessed of enough discretion to make the right choices- was a step forward for a genre in which its young females had previously been portrayed as bimbo victims (Cover Girl Killer and The Night Caller spring to mind), but not one that all viewers would necessarily agree with. But most striking of all, and possibly the most enduring image which the viewer will take away with them, is of the masterful symbolism with which director Greene invests every shot. Every inch of the Kinch family's world- their house, their walls, their TV, Agutters underwear, bedroom furniture and toys, Sutcliffe's clothes, Marshalls van, the local Catholic church, their town centre, their record shop) - is painted a bright, scintillating white- a white which, by inference, is slowly becoming smudged and corrupted with the dirt of the outside world. White also symbolises, of course, purity and innocence (two qualities Catholic schoolgirls are supposed to hold dear), and it is into this world of innocence that the ever-present red bus (a symbol of violation and penetration), conducted by the lecherous yet similarly juvenile Simon Ward, makes regular journeys. The allegory is further expanded in one scene where Agutter believes she sees the Christ figure in church weeping blood: by the time we acknowledge it, its gone, but the seed has already been planted. Rarely in a genre production has the use of colour and background been so important or effective in creating a uniformity of mood. I Start Counting is as near-perfect an end to a decade as one could hope for, and exactly the kind of film people should be making now- which is, of course, exactly why they never will. 有些人只能看到所谓的亚裔刻板印象，好似已经拍过无数部？并没有呢
天呐，这就是我梦想中的电影啊，这是属于女性的“超级英雄主义”，我看到了三四十年后我的生活依然会有美好的希望，好羡慕杨紫琼，在这个年纪拥有了属于自己的宇宙，那些迷影的回忆，也是她的精彩人生，好剧本好设定好角色，当然她也值得。
现实世界大家在银幕上看电影，咱不一样，咱数字经济发展多快呀，“大家想看电影，就看网上的吧”！早活在元宇宙里啦！
脑洞挺好看啊，很飞，很敢瞎编，就是说教多了点
多元宇宙之所以“多元”是因多元宇宙给我们带来了更多的生活的可能性，但之所以加引号，是因为它其实又是单一的，这源自电影给我们呈现的世界观，即不管你处在任何宇宙之中，不管你有多么多的可能性，到头来只要你心存真善美之爱与情感你就是幸福的，而这种将情感层面推广并作为衡量整个宇宙的法则，它实则呈现的是一个不同的但却又是共通的多元宇宙，也就是说在现实中，人们实则并不知多元宇宙里究竟会发生什么，但又为了串联各个宇宙使其产生联系，又必须找到一个共通性，而也正是这一共通性恰恰印证了它所呈现的势必不是一个多元的宇宙，它是以多元为名义所包裹起来的一个世界。

6.7/10 前半部分观感其实还挺好，打戏也还不错，一场关继威复刻成龙办公室的打戏，一场女儿出现的花式首秀。但后面越来越飞，随着眼花缭乱的多重宇宙蒙太奇、重复的打戏、聒噪的说教，再难以让人进入。这片在后面走入极端，放弃故事A，大写故事B。对于普通观众，那些虚无主义和存在主义的哲思，在没有一个A故事的共情，是很难得到的。不过本片有很多迷影致敬，这倒给了影迷的一些满足，也仅于此。
很疯狂很嗨，也很残酷很温暖，我们终于可以找到一个理由去忍受这操蛋的生活了，因为拯救世界的重任已经交给另一个平行宇宙的我了，而且还存在一个love u in every universe的人，我们努力生活的意义就是等待他们出现。
和《小僵尸》一样，在尽可能的炫酷中，表达新时代元宇宙的眷恋和多次元大爱。万花筒效果做得可谓稳准狠，一次次的跳跃，丝毫没印象主线剧情和角色一以贯之的行为目的。然而，我却不属于这样的万花筒观看者，在只幻不科的跳跃中，被催眠的昏昏欲睡。只能遗憾地说，这样的可贵瞬息、这样包容的全宇宙不属于我。
杨紫琼在里面的表演，属于“我知道她是演员，但我总感觉她不是在演”那种，非常好。
好像也不是，是人生和宇宙一样有无数种可能可无尽的可能都没有意义。一切都没有意义。
And I'm the only one who laughs
强迫自己看到2/3后终于还是选择放弃，否则不是进入梦乡就是反胃呕吐。这部被各媒体疯狂推崇中国影迷年庆般期待的片子竟没有半点在我的兴奋点上。和两位导演之前的《瑞士军刀男》一样，从一开始就如同一口老白干搭配一口冷汉堡或是一碗牛肉面混进一份冰拿铁，挺独创的挺脑洞开的挺天马行空的但是完全不是我喜欢的味。所有演职人员均非中国籍拍出来的中国元素就是一个个纸老虎而已，充斥着西方的假大空和恶俗味。总归一句话，咱的审美造诣确实不够get这种牛掰片。
又是一部它本可以真的深入哲学但它非要宇宙中心歌颂爱的电影。概率上来说，我们每一个人都是Evelyn，同时也是所有人。
看似无厘头喜剧，实则是深刻的宇宙法则。话说成龙pass掉可能无意间拯救了这部电影。
真的欣赏不了 可能是我理解不上去吧…太魔幻了 全程看着视觉冲击感觉混乱闹心 观感不爽 女儿的造型和爸爸的口音时时让我出戏 最好的就是两块石头那里吧 蹩脚的中文听着难受 天马行空的画面有的地方挺惊悚 也没法共情 恶趣味太多甚至有点精神污染 生理不适 怕做噩梦 强忍着把两个多小时看完的 看得好累 如坐针毡
电影内核挺简单 就是女主和女儿和解 和丈夫和解 和父亲和解 但是却披上了一层非常荒唐离谱古怪的外衣 如同最后荧幕上写的“天马行空”四个中文字 有生之年能看到用Dildo作为武器的武打戏也是蛮有趣的
打着动作片的旗号讲了一个所谓“以爱之名”的故事 片中时不时的煽情说教很生硬 浪费了那么多特效 很无聊的一个故事 拜托 american chinese不是只有永远的父权可以讲好吗
