中世纪的两个男人为一个女人而战，把决斗视为上帝的意志。雷老爷子多年后再次涉足古装片，史诗、宏伟的场面以及对人性、权力、欲望的探讨让影片看点十足。马达和大本的再次同框也为影片增色不少。朱迪科莫虽然是后起之秀但是演技丝毫不输影片里的任何一位，相反她把身处男权社会下地位卑微却内心刚毅女性角色演绎的淋漓尽致。
