The story appears simple on the surface, but is revealed, especially after multiple viewings, as more multi-layered and textured than Cassavetes at his best. Ostensibly it concerns a 14-year old Catholic girl, Wynne (Agutter) growing up in this post-modern wasteland, who develops a crush on her much older adoptive brother (Marshall)- a crush which perversely deepens and grows into infatuation once she starts to believe he is the local sex killer. This is in itself an idea that makes you sit up and jolt, but as the narrative develops, it continues not necessarily along a linear path but in several confusing and fascinating directions: the family's history, (detailed effectively in chilling flashback during an improvised seance) is a chequered one, and has suffered at least one major relocation and upheaval in the last ten years. At the crux, however, it's the depiction of socialal changes that make I Start Counting so fascinating and elevate its language far beyond the confines of the standard horror film. The major subtext- that teenage girls were maturing more quickly than before, and developing full sexual and romantic appetites (even if in thought rather than deed) but were not possessed of enough discretion to make the right choices- was a step forward for a genre in which its young females had previously been portrayed as bimbo victims (Cover Girl Killer and The Night Caller spring to mind), but not one that all viewers would necessarily agree with. But most striking of all, and possibly the most enduring image which the viewer will take away with them, is of the masterful symbolism with which director Greene invests every shot. Every inch of the Kinch family's world- their house, their walls, their TV, Agutters underwear, bedroom furniture and toys, Sutcliffe's clothes, Marshalls van, the local Catholic church, their town centre, their record shop) - is painted a bright, scintillating white- a white which, by inference, is slowly becoming smudged and corrupted with the dirt of the outside world. White also symbolises, of course, purity and innocence (two qualities Catholic schoolgirls are supposed to hold dear), and it is into this world of innocence that the ever-present red bus (a symbol of violation and penetration), conducted by the lecherous yet similarly juvenile Simon Ward, makes regular journeys. The allegory is further expanded in one scene where Agutter believes she sees the Christ figure in church weeping blood: by the time we acknowledge it, its gone, but the seed has already been planted. Rarely in a genre production has the use of colour and background been so important or effective in creating a uniformity of mood. I Start Counting is as near-perfect an end to a decade as one could hope for, and exactly the kind of film people should be making now- which is, of course, exactly why they never will. 怎么说呢？不是豆瓣网友，不是编剧雷神的粉丝，没研究过平行空间，不懂祖父悖论，可能会看不懂，土猛土猛的！
算写的不太好的美式家庭故事，拍了这么多其实触及真情实感的东西很少，流水账质感比较强，莉莉拉贝完全不适合这个妈妈的角色。

如果演员换成欧美面孔，这就是一部美国片啊！女主换成寂静之地女主那就太有感了！镜头感故事都很棒！只是人性刻画稍显单薄！
好平淡的剧情。
最后炸裂，响起的呼吸机停止声，女的死了，在另一个平行世界里，大家都活的好好的，一层又一层，只是不知道还是不是最初的世界。
有点像恐怖游轮，但这个应该是梦吧？对应开头医院
色调和配乐很高级欸！光影效果也很好，女主姐姐演技也不错，很有辨识度！即使看过很多类似的片子也会有想看下去的欲望！包袱抖的有点直白，剖白的太快，但是瑕不掩瑜。
设定挺好，虽然不新颖有点粗制滥，作为网大电影还是可以的吧
算是精简版彗星来的那一夜吧，但剧情过于单薄，不过好在结构很清晰，并没有那么的复杂，更多的是关于人性的表达，全员演技在线，结尾的留白还算合适，对于小作坊来说实属不易，本子还缺打磨，听说被好莱坞买了剧本翻拍，期待一下！

没看过，但我只想打一星。天天给我推荐一个叫编剧雷神的网红，短视频讲的含糊不清，缺乏知识储备，深度不够，原来编剧这么好当的呀，也就忽悠一下圈外人。这几天又开始商业互吹找一些其他网红吹自己背景，我tm早就把这个人屏蔽了，结果又tm给我推荐他，无语了，这个网红视频下面的大部分评论弱智的要死，看几部电影就当自己是影评人了？
戏外 ：妻子孕期 东出轨。
虽然故事最后结束的莫名其妙，就这样当作家了？但还挺温馨的。喜欢这个调调，全是书的酒吧，蓝色的跑车，那个年代的歌曲，弑父才能长大，很可爱的小孩，棒棒的舅舅。
唉。人生呐。病了要治，活着好难。少年呀，人生没意义，在角落也要好好照顾自己呀。
什么都好，但国产科幻题材真的不用刻意从影调上模仿……
