The story appears simple on the surface, but is revealed, especially after multiple viewings, as more multi-layered and textured than Cassavetes at his best. Ostensibly it concerns a 14-year old Catholic girl, Wynne (Agutter) growing up in this post-modern wasteland, who develops a crush on her much older adoptive brother (Marshall)- a crush which perversely deepens and grows into infatuation once she starts to believe he is the local sex killer. This is in itself an idea that makes you sit up and jolt, but as the narrative develops, it continues not necessarily along a linear path but in several confusing and fascinating directions: the family's history, (detailed effectively in chilling flashback during an improvised seance) is a chequered one, and has suffered at least one major relocation and upheaval in the last ten years. At the crux, however, it's the depiction of socialal changes that make I Start Counting so fascinating and elevate its language far beyond the confines of the standard horror film. The major subtext- that teenage girls were maturing more quickly than before, and developing full sexual and romantic appetites (even if in thought rather than deed) but were not possessed of enough discretion to make the right choices- was a step forward for a genre in which its young females had previously been portrayed as bimbo victims (Cover Girl Killer and The Night Caller spring to mind), but not one that all viewers would necessarily agree with. But most striking of all, and possibly the most enduring image which the viewer will take away with them, is of the masterful symbolism with which director Greene invests every shot. Every inch of the Kinch family's world- their house, their walls, their TV, Agutters underwear, bedroom furniture and toys, Sutcliffe's clothes, Marshalls van, the local Catholic church, their town centre, their record shop) - is painted a bright, scintillating white- a white which, by inference, is slowly becoming smudged and corrupted with the dirt of the outside world. White also symbolises, of course, purity and innocence (two qualities Catholic schoolgirls are supposed to hold dear), and it is into this world of innocence that the ever-present red bus (a symbol of violation and penetration), conducted by the lecherous yet similarly juvenile Simon Ward, makes regular journeys. The allegory is further expanded in one scene where Agutter believes she sees the Christ figure in church weeping blood: by the time we acknowledge it, its gone, but the seed has already been planted. Rarely in a genre production has the use of colour and background been so important or effective in creating a uniformity of mood. I Start Counting is as near-perfect an end to a decade as one could hope for, and exactly the kind of film people should be making now- which is, of course, exactly why they never will. 舞台，乐队，碎片化的时间，把现实拍得有点像演戏，把演戏拍得像回忆般真实。确实啊，有时候会瞬间失神，脑子里被塞进一段以为早已经忘掉的曾经。
两个小时的MV，人生海海，太阳照常升起。
先苦后甜型，前面有点闷，直到最后十分钟才好看了起来，沙莉酱倒是全程很可爱。很多人拿花束般的恋爱和这部比，那还是觉得花束更好。
在这里，恋爱激情的消退乃至落幕，或都无需多么庄重的理由， 它更像是给尘埃落定后的自我重审，找回在情感中的自我心灵史而非实际经验，提供了必要的契机。

不断倒带的爱情，过去越来越美好，现在便越来越哀愁，就像开头道出的疫情背景，终究是隔阂加深的时代，当成疫情电影看也完全可以。尾崎的演技意外还不错，造型像野人hh，片尾曲也很好听。致敬《地球之夜》，我们贾木许就是最酷的！找永濑正敏来客串也最合适不过
如水溫柔，就像聽兩個主角在平靜描述那些愛過又獨自過的片段，很清淡卻100%在談戀愛的電影。神片段是初遇的飛翔和北極熊。コロナのなかった頃をちょっと思い出しただけ。
即使世界只有一种通用语言，说出口的爱还是会被误解。

'想起'所叙述的结构也很贴适，默默深赞，从分开做倒叙，选生日做节点，男女主人公最后的选择也让人了然。对话功力很深，这样主题的作品需要很多有一搭没一搭聊天的场景，呼应和伏笔的编排过于明显和刻意的话会显得有点做作，但'想起'处理的很好，对话传递得很自然。
是不是所有的爱情最终都只会结束啊？不管分手后会一直记得你生日、时不时想起一些过往，还是一如既往痴痴地等一个人，还是释怀放下，其实都能坦荡面对就好了吧。
着实有点无聊和无病呻吟 那个坐在椅子上等老婆的存在真的合理吗
没有那么好，也没有那么不好，平平淡淡中的真实，倒叙的手法会有回想的沉浸感，海洋馆、摩天轮下、午夜街头，感谢可以回想……
电影默默无声的流淌，但最终一点点堆叠成为隐痛，在每一个生日蛋糕，在每一个日落，每一个无意的对话，每一个梦醒时分，让你无声难过，隐隐作痛。
剧透：蔡依林的歌，结构有效，卡司浪费，比较无聊，半点叹息没有，只想赶紧完了算了
