The story appears simple on the surface, but is revealed, especially after multiple viewings, as more multi-layered and textured than Cassavetes at his best. Ostensibly it concerns a 14-year old Catholic girl, Wynne (Agutter) growing up in this post-modern wasteland, who develops a crush on her much older adoptive brother (Marshall)- a crush which perversely deepens and grows into infatuation once she starts to believe he is the local sex killer. This is in itself an idea that makes you sit up and jolt, but as the narrative develops, it continues not necessarily along a linear path but in several confusing and fascinating directions: the family's history, (detailed effectively in chilling flashback during an improvised seance) is a chequered one, and has suffered at least one major relocation and upheaval in the last ten years. At the crux, however, it's the depiction of socialal changes that make I Start Counting so fascinating and elevate its language far beyond the confines of the standard horror film. The major subtext- that teenage girls were maturing more quickly than before, and developing full sexual and romantic appetites (even if in thought rather than deed) but were not possessed of enough discretion to make the right choices- was a step forward for a genre in which its young females had previously been portrayed as bimbo victims (Cover Girl Killer and The Night Caller spring to mind), but not one that all viewers would necessarily agree with. But most striking of all, and possibly the most enduring image which the viewer will take away with them, is of the masterful symbolism with which director Greene invests every shot. Every inch of the Kinch family's world- their house, their walls, their TV, Agutters underwear, bedroom furniture and toys, Sutcliffe's clothes, Marshalls van, the local Catholic church, their town centre, their record shop) - is painted a bright, scintillating white- a white which, by inference, is slowly becoming smudged and corrupted with the dirt of the outside world. White also symbolises, of course, purity and innocence (two qualities Catholic schoolgirls are supposed to hold dear), and it is into this world of innocence that the ever-present red bus (a symbol of violation and penetration), conducted by the lecherous yet similarly juvenile Simon Ward, makes regular journeys. The allegory is further expanded in one scene where Agutter believes she sees the Christ figure in church weeping blood: by the time we acknowledge it, its gone, but the seed has already been planted. Rarely in a genre production has the use of colour and background been so important or effective in creating a uniformity of mood. I Start Counting is as near-perfect an end to a decade as one could hope for, and exactly the kind of film people should be making now- which is, of course, exactly why they never will. 当一名幼儿园老师——亚米·高塔姆绑架了 16 名小学生并提出一系列要求时，不仅震撼了孟买警察和城市，而且在全国及其政界人士中引起了反响。
还蛮好懂的。整个片的基调就是女主不可能伤害无辜的人，她一定是有什么需求，甚至猜到了她想要保护女性的法案。女绑匪，女警领导，女总理，在这类案件的共情上，展现了女性独有的力量，加上难得的男警察Javed的努力。打斗场面好真实，很难得看到这种真的会累的。这男的真的好贱，都被指名道姓了还在狡辩，还想杀人灭口。活该去死！活该活该！就是放小孩出来之类的地方感觉有点粗糙
半路弃，实在太糙了，印度电影有很大可以发展的空间。

所以，让一个国家在法律制度上有革新，真的只能通过以暴制暴的方式才会有所成效么？
模式化是唯一扣掉的一星，整体完成度还是很高的，但是从一开始就是印度套路的电影满满。再回望一下我们😏
滥竽充数的慢动作和无时不刻的失败配乐毁掉了这部电影——可这似乎也是宝莱坞电影的标配，可以看作是我们所熟知的MV电影。但问题就在于每次随着配乐的推镜头实在是突兀而可笑，和导演却无比热衷将其和稀烂的配乐结合，甚至连女主角在开着的手机视频都能突然用手机相机进行推镜头，这一再制造出十分鬼畜的画面，简直是用用最出戏的调度破坏了凝重的气氛。我和朋友都开始预测bgm和推镜头了，这成为了观影过程的最有趣之处。整体来说，剧本还是太老套了，所有的手法几乎都有前人的痕迹，但它的现实意义绝对是不容忽视的。
7分。剧情走向和反转都在意料之中，除了真正的强奸犯这个设置。这十年来，女性议题在印度的社会类型片里占比越来越大，也体现了我们邻居的社会意识和公民意识在慢慢变好。
作为电影的观感还好，在印度电影里全是节奏很好的。真正难得的是印度电影开始直面社会问题，来讨论来表达。片尾“据统计，在您观看这部电影的时长中，就有8位妇女被强奸”让人倒吸冷气。
寓言式的故事，剧情基本可以预测，主要是支持发声，印度已经有好几部类似提出诉求的片子了
虽然动机和出发点比较好，但剧情太脑残了，阿三的特种部队再拉垮也分分钟穿墙透视狙爆头了，哪轮得到一个小女子拿个小手机就能把总理喊来，真尴尬
预告犯的模式，手里有筹码，才能达到自己的诉求，误杀3开工！
当大家都以为孩子们是受害者的时候，却不知道有一个人在用自己的力量拯救着他们，她身为抑郁症患者，却仍努力把欢笑带给这些孩子。
一开始就猜出另有所图，直至过半才切入正题，也太慢了。
立意甚佳，直指印度的性犯罪问题。不仅数量多，量刑轻，而且破案率低。片尾的一行字 “自你开始看这部电影，据统计…印度已有8名妇女被强奸”让这个问题更加直观。最后校车司机是真正罪犯的反转强力，女主所作一切的直接动机不是为了复仇而是为了避免孩子们可能会被罪犯侵犯也令人意想不到，不过从影片来説，整体的情节还不够顺畅，剧情的BUG也略多。
讨论的问题，挺有意义。但是剧本，拍摄和演绎，都非常做作，毫无代入感。
